TE KUITI SHEEP FAIR

COMPLETE CLEARANCE. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their annual Winter Sheep Fair at Te Kuiti on Friday, when a medium entry was offered to an attendance of local and Waikato buyers. The yarding, though in numbers well below that of other years, comprised many lines of good quality ewes. Values showed a marked decline on last year's figures but we report, with the exception of one pen, a complete clearance. Buyers were low in their opening bids but on vendors meeting the market several pens sold under keen competition at prices wel labove expectations. For an entry of mixed aged ewes, r.w. S.D. rams, Mr. Wilfred Johnstone received 22s 6d, whilst Mr. Allan French sold at 18s 6d a line r.w. Romney rams. Mr. Wallace Johnstone sold a draft of top quality 4-year ewes, r.w. S.D. rams, at 20s. Mr. W. I. Hunt's annual entry of F.M. ewes, showing well in lamb to S.D. rams, made 16s 2d, Messrs. Tappin Bros, receiving 14s 2d for a pen r.w. Romney rams, whilst Mr. Rod.
