LIQUOR LICENSING ISSUE
DEPUTATION TO MINISTER. SERIOUSNESS OF PRESENT POSITION. A deputation consisting of representatives of the dental, legal end medical professions of Te Kuiti waited on the Hon. W. Lee Martin, Minister of Agriculture, during his visit to open the Winter Show on Thursday, to urge the claims of the granting of liquor licenses in the King Country. The deputation was introduced by Mr. W. J. Brosdfoot, MP.
The serious handicap under which the King Country was labouring owing to the fact that the district was a no license area was stressed, and although he made no promises, the Minister gave the deputation a very sympathetic hearing.
