The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report as follows on their Otorohanga stock sale held on Wednesday:— Cattle.—An average yarding of cow beef sold under good competition, value being well up to quotations at other centres. A larger yarding of stores and boner cows sold readily at late rates. We had only a small offering of poor to medium quality dairy cattle, these not attracting much attention. We quote:: Fat cows £5 7s 6d to £5 17s; killable £4 10s to £5; light do, £3 17s 6d to £4 7s 6d; heavy boners £2 15s to £3 7s 6d; others £1 10s upwards; medium quality dairy sorts £5 15s to £6 10s; poorer conditioned sorts from £4 15s; small in-calf heifers £5 to £5 12s 6d. Pigs.—A small entry of pork met with a good demand, values being well up to schedule. A very buoyant market for a good entry of stores resulted in a total clearance at values equal to Frankton rates. We quote: Light porkers 36s to 38s; large stores 32s to 355; medium 27s to 30s; slips 23s to 26s 6d; smaller 18s to 21s; weaners 10s to 16s; sows to farrow £4 to £5 10s.
