STATE THEATRE
The gay comedy romance, “The Young in Heart,” has its final screening at the State Theatre to-night. Breezy in story, in movement and in the delineation of its characters, “The First Hundred Years,” screening at the State on Saturday and Monday, wins rating as one of the besttold comedy narratives of the season, timely, convincing, and thoroughly entertaining. The comedy combination of Robert Montgomery and Virginia Bruce has proved very popular. EMPRESS THEATRE. Columbia’s “Crime Takes a Holiday” screens to-night and Saturday at the Empress Theatre. Jack Holt is starred as a fearless district attorney in this tale of a gangster-ridden city. Also in the cast are Marcia Ralston, Russell Hop ton and Douglas Dumbrille. “Back in Circulation,” an engrossing newspaper comedy-drama, forms the second unit. Pat O’Brien and Joan Blondell are starred in this highly dramatic and exciting story of the power of the press.
