WEDDING
GORBOY—HIBBERD. The marriage was celebrated at the Roman Catholic Church, Otorohanga, on the morning of the 17th inst. of Eileen Erin Hibberd, of Okato (Taranaki), and Wynn Cuthbert Corboy, of Pokuru. The Rev. Father Shore, Te Kuiti, conducted the Nuptial Mass, while the “Ave Maria” was sung by Madame Myra Booth, of Hamilton, the wedding music being played by Mrs. Kenneth Liddy. The bride entered the church upon the arm of her uncle, Mr. Henry Rothery, who gave her in marriage. She was attired in white lace, with Peter Pan collar, and long sleeves, the skirt falling full to make a train. Her veil was of tulle with a coronet of orange blossoms, and she carried a sheaf of arum lilies. Miss Molly Corboy (bridegroom’s sister) and Miss Joan Rothery (cousin of the bride) were the bridesmaids. They were dressed alike in green taffeta with tight-fitting bodices, Peter Pan collars, puffed sleeves and very full skirts, with large bow ornaments. They wore veils of green net, trimmed with seasonal tinted flowers. Their bouquets were of autumn tinted blooms. Mr. P. Foley (National Park) was best man and Mr. Jack Cullen (Wellington) groomsman. The reception was held at “Pine Park,” the homestead of Mr. and Mrs. H. Rothery, where the bride's mother, Mrs. M. Hibberd, of Okato, assisted by the mother of the bridegroom, Mrs. J. Corboy, of Te Awamutu, received the guests. The former wore a navy suit with accessories to tone, and carried a bouquet of violets and daphne. Mrs! Corboy, Senr., wore a navy costume with accessories in harmony, and carried a bouquet of | berries. The bride’s going-away dress
was of teal blue, with toning furs, the accessories being of a burgundy shade. Mr. and Mrs. Corboy will make their future home in the Te Awamutu district.
