RANGITOTO NEWS
EUCHRE AND DANCE. The fortnightly euchre and dance evening was held in the hall by the local branch of the W.D.F.U. There were four tables of players. The prizes were won by Mrs. Brown and Mr. Malcomson, while the consolation honour were won by Mrs. Malcomson and Mr. Priest. A most enjoyable supper was served by the hostesses, Mrs. Malcomson and Miss June Stretch. The music for the dance was supplied by Mr. Ferry.
Labour Party Dance;
A dance was held recently by the local branch of the Labour Party. Owing to the inclemency of the weather there was only a fair attendance. A Monte Carlo was won by Mrs. Reid and Mr. Priest. Mr. Sittlington was M.C.. The music was supplied by Mr. Ferry and extras were played by Mrs. Wilson and Mr. Quirk. Meeting of W.D.F.U. At the usual meeting of the Pururu branch of the W.D.F.U. Mrs. Brown presided over a large attendance. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Mrs. Stretch was presented with two rose trees for winning the most points during the previous 12 months for the flower competitions. Mrs. Stretch also won the competition an’anged by the hostesses, Mrs. Coldstream and Miss June Stretch. ' Afternoon tea was served and a social half-hour was enjoyed by all.
