WEDDING BELLS. STOKES—BLAKE. A pretty but quiet wedding was solemnised at ' the residence of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Blake, of Taumatatotara, on Wednesday, 14th instant, when their eldest daughter, Jean, was married to Mr. Ronald Stokes, of Te Anga. Mr. S. W. Webber performed the ceremony.
The bride, attended by her sister, Miss Florence Blake, was attractively arrayed for the event and was given away by her father. Mr. Allan Shaw carried out the duties of best man.
Later the happy pair left on a motor tour.
Annual District Meeting N.Z. Dairy Co.
Largely attended annual district meetings of the New Zealand Co-op. Dairy Co., Ltd., were held at Kinohaku on the 19th instant, and Marakopa on the 20th instant. Mr. J. G. Porteous presided at the former and Mr. R. Miln at the latter.
The matter of application of the contractor carter for a rise in price due to increased costs was left to the decision of an early future meeting of the combined Kinohaku and Marakopa committees.
The following committee were elected for the ensuing year:— Kinohaku: Messrs. J. F. Porteous (convenor), R. Neely, D. A. Moore, H. A. Derecourt, E. V. Everett and J. Munro.
Marakopa: Messrs. R. Miln (convenor), G. Gordon, E. Mosley, R. Haylock, D. Burt and G. M. Bell.
