MONTHLY MEDAL MATCH. STEEDMAN-HERBERT CUP. An excellent card by C. S. Johnston, 88—17, 71, won the monthly medal match on Saturday from C. Wilson, whose net 73 off 16 was a sound effort on a recently reduced handicap. There were several cards of 75, including that of B. Nicholas who has also been severely reduced this season. J. M. Hine and Nicholas divided the trophy for a match held in conjunction with the medal round. The following are the results of the third round of the SteedmanHerbert Cup matches: —Fleming beat Hine 2 up; Hetet beat Prescott 4 and 3; Gould beat Simmonds by default; Symonds beat Purcell 1 up; Drew beat Gallie by default; Wilson beat Dickers 2 and 1. The next round must be completed on 9th July, and players will arrange that matches are played on that date. Next Saturday a mixed foursome match will be played, the draw to be posted in the clubhouse.
An inter-club match with Te Awamutu will be played during the weekend and the names of those selected for the team will also be posted in the ’clubhouse.
(The club’s open day has been fixed for July 23rd.)
