A radio message from the Empress of Britain, with the King and Queen on board, says the liner has entered a warmer zone. Their Majesties on Sunday night saw colour films of a portion of their tour, which they voted excellent. It is felt in London that the serious deterioration in Britain’s relations with the Japanese, which seemed to be threatened toward the close of last week, was the result of the introduction of extraneous matters into the original difference on the textile question between the British and Japanese in North China. Dissatisfaction with the guaranteed price proposals for the 1939-40 season is expressed in the annual report of the National Dairy Conference, conducted by the National Dairy Federation to be held in Wellington towards tho end of this month.
