BAND CONTEST

TE KUITI ENTERS. Matters in connection with the Hamilton contest to be held at Easter were dealt with at the meeting of delegates of the South Auckland Brass Band Union at Hamilton on Saturday night. The contest is to be held at the Agricultural and Pastoral grounds at Claudelands on Easter Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Entries were received as follows: . B. Grade Bands.—Rotorua Municipal, Tauranga Municipal, Hamilton Citizens, Waikato Regimental, Thames Regimental, Waihi Federal, Te Aroha Municipal.

C Grade Bands.—Ngaruawrfffia • Municipal, Pukekohe Municipal, Cambridge Municipal, Morrinsville Municipal, Te Awamutu Municipal, Te Kuiti Municipal, Paeroa Municipal, Matamata Citizens.

For the B grade test the selection “Euryanthe” (Weber) has been chosen, and for C grade “From the North,” a collection of Scottish airs. The 15 competing hands represent a total of about 400 bandsmen.
