TANGITU SUCCESSFUL CATHOLIC BALL. A very successful Catholic ball was held in the Tangitu Hall on Friday, November 18th. Visitors were present from Taumarunui, Te Kuiti, Kopaki, Waimiha and Mokauiti. The arrangeemnts were carried out very

efficiently by a capable committee under Mrs. Bartlett, president, and Miss Amrein as secretary, while Mr. J. Waites acted as M.C. Mrs. L. Innes and Mr. Martin, of Waimiha, won the waltzing competition after a very close contest, while Miss A. Amrein and Mr. Dowman, Taumarunui, won the spot waltz. During the evening items were contributed by Mrs. McManus, Kopaki, and Mr. W. Swift, Te Kuiti. Mr.

Swift also judged the waltzing competition. Bill Jones' Dance Band supplied the music and they have seldom, if ever, been heard to better advantage. During the course of the evening, Mrs. Bartlett, in a few nicely chosen words, thanked all those present for their patronage. Dancing was continued until 2 a.m. and everything went off with plenty of swing and rhythm.
