SHORTAGE OF FEED

FROSTS CUT BACK GROWTH.

ROOT CROPS IN POOR SUPPLY. An acute shortage of feed, which is reflected in the small sales ■ of stock, is being experienced this winter by farmers. This is due to the weather conditions which have prevailed, accentuated by the small crop of swedes grown. At this time of the year it is usual for farmers to augment their pasture with swedes, but owing to the poor root crops this year, it is being found very difficult to provide stock with feed. Many farmers who have never had to do so before are forced to obtain additional grazing ; for their stock. Several farmers have made arrangements to run their stock on Crown sections.
