AUSTRALIA-BOUND
INVESTORS' MONEY. "LITERALLY MILLIONS." The amount of overseas capital finding its way into Australia for investment was commented upon by Mr. A. W. Nisbet, secretary of the Wellington Manufacturers' Association, who returned by the Awatea on Monday from a visit to Sydney. Mr. Nisbet spent some weeks in Australia investigating industrial development and the operations of the various wages boards, and the Arbitration Court system in the different States. "I have been very impressed with the confidence shown by the overseas investor in Australia," he said to a "Evening Post" reporter. "Moneyis literally pouring into Australia—particularly in New South, Wales and Victoria—for capital expenditure in the development of industries. It is coming from the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, South Africa, and New Zealand—literally millions. Much is going to Broken Hill and Port Kembla—to the iron and steel and kindred industries."
