KAWHIA SOUTH TE ANGA YOUNG FARMERS' CLUB. The annual meeting of the Te Anga Young Farmers' Club was held at Te Anga Hall on the 27th ult. Mr. A. D. Burt president, was in the chair, assisted by Mr. 0. Gordon as YoungFarmers' chairman. Mr. 0. Gordon gave a full report of the Club's activities for the year, stating that nine meetings had been held, covering, besides lectures, field day demonstrations on beef breeds, dairy breeds, Romney sheep, pigs, and orcharding. There had also been a good representation of members at the judging competitions at the Royal Show and the Otorohanga Show. At the latter, one of their members, Mr. R. E. Miln, won the Romney judging competition. Altogether, a very satisfactory year could be recorded. The following officers were elected
for the ensuing year:—President, Mr. A. D. Burt; chairman, Mr. Geo. Butcher; hon'. secretary, Mr. H. Goddard; treasurer, Mr. N. Stokes. It was decided to join in with the W.D.F.U. again for a combined annual ball. The outgoing chairman, Mr. 0. Gordon, thanked the president,: officers and members for the way they had worked to* make the activities of the Club a success during the past year. , ; Kawhia South' R.S.A. The annual meeting of the Kawhia South branch of the R.S.A. was held at Kinohaku on Anzac night, a good muster being present. Mr. D. Tynan was in the chair. After reviewing the progress of the past year, a discussion ensued on the venue of meetings. It was finally decided to hold them alternately at Te Anga and Kinohaku. Mr. N. Hunter was elected president for the ensuing year and Mr. D. Leslie, who was heartily complimented on his splendid service as honorary secretary to the local Association, was re-elected to the post. It was decided to hold the local ball at Marakopa this year on the 17th of June, with the reunion "smoko" to follow a fortnight later. Facial Eczema in Sheep. '. Facial eczema is reported in a number of local flocks, but only in a mild degree. Some flocks have been fortunate enough to remain entirely free from the malady to date, and with the advent of the colder season, its incidence is expected to diminish.
