RUGBY FOOTBALL
OPENING OF SEASON. The meeting of last season's champion team, Pio Pio, with a strong Te Awamutu side, the Rovers, will form the principal attraction at Rugby Park for the opening of the football season on Saturday. The Mangaotaki and Waitete senior B teams will play the curtain-raiser. The Te Kuiti Senior A team to play Mangapeehi will be picked from the following:—J. Hayward, G. Wa'ritini, F. Danrell, G. Turner, L. Wi, S. Turner, R: Robinson, R. Martin, P. Barbalich, T. Bradshaw, T. Conway, R. Barlow, R. Bell, K. Jackson, M. Richards, J. Collins, K. Waikai. Train leaves at 1 p.m. The Te Kuiti Senior B team to play Pio Pio at Pio Pio, will be chosen from the following players:—M. Holland, R. Buckeridge, M. Josephs, C. Jacob, R. Davenport, O. McCorkindale, F. Danrell, C. Bell, Carswell, H. Barton, H. Borrell, V. Ferris, A. Hetet, J. James, B. Holland, J. O'Keefe, P. Harford, R. McLeod, Batteley. Bus leaves railway station at 12.30 p.m. sharp.
