KAWHIA SOUTH
KINOHAKU BALL. A very successful ball was held at Kinohaku on the 6th inst., when the Kinohaku Basket Ball Club organised a masked fancy dress ball. The Click Clack Band were in attendance, music reached a high standard, and 'twas the sma' wee hours when the revellers dispersed. Novelty dances were held and were won by Mr. T. Brough an'd Miss J. Munro, spot waltz; Mr. and Mrs. N. Hunter, Monte Carlo.
Prizes were awarded to:—Best dressed lady, Miss A. Derecourt as an Eastern Princess; best dressed gentleman, Mr. J. Stone as Dewar's whisky; most original, Mr. C. O'Rourke as a chef. Costumes worthy of mention were worn by Miss R. Chalmers and Miss J. Rhodes as Music, Mirth and Melody; Miss G. Green as Good-night; Miss J. Munro as Santa Claus; Miss B. Van Houtee as Film Fan, and Miss 0. Neeley as Grandma; Mr. T. Brough as a Mexican; Messrs. R. and G. Derecourt as Mickey and Minnie Mouse; Messrs. J. Moon and M. Neeley as Two Little Girls in Blue; Mr. O. Gordon and Miss M. Gordon as two devils.
