THE STATE THEATRE

CURRENT ATTRACTIONS. The final screening of "Swing High, Swing Low" will be shown at the State Theatre this evening. "The Prince and the Pauper," a Warner Bros.' production and the first talking-film version of Mark Twain's immortal adventure romance, will be presented on Saturday and Monday. The well-known story is that of two babies born in London at the same moment in the 16th century—one the young Prince Edward, who first sees life in the Palace; the other Tom Canty, who opens his eyes in the slums, the son of a thief and a villain. Their lives become tangled because they look exactly alike. Errol Flynn, handsome young Irish star of "Green Light," "Captain Blood" and "The Charge of the Light Brigade," heads the cast. Once more he is a swashbuckling swordsman. The cast also includes such famed troupers as Claude Rains, Henry Stephenson. Barton Mac Lane, Phyllis Barry, Montague Love, Fritz Leiber, and lan MacLaren. EMPRESS THEATRE. Radio's latest innovation, the poc-ket-sized transmitter, makes its screen debut as an important part of the plot of "Behind the Headlines," new action picture featuring Lee Tracy, to be screened at the Empress Theatre to-night and on Saturday. Tracy plays the role of a radio news commentator who uses the newest devices to enable him to scoop his newspaper rivals in the matter of covering thrilling events, and the film depicts how such on-the-spot broadcasts are accomplished. Paramount's "The Crime Nobody Saw," an unusual mystery story with a comic twist, forms the second unit with Lew Ayres, Ruth Coleman, Eugene Pallette and Benny Baker in the leading roles. It is a thrilling story which moves at a rapid pace and it has everything it takes to make first class motion picture' entertainment.
