Mr. McKenzie, president of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society, and Mr. Dobson, chief ranger to the Society, were engaged in fishing and trout research work on the upper Mangaokewa River, south of Te Kuiti, during the week-end. They state that they found the fish had started to run, but had not yet come to the upper reaches of the rivers. \
