WOOL, SHEEPSKINS, HIDES AND TALLOW. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report a good sale with a total clearance of wool oddments, sheepskins, hides and tallow, held at Palmerston North on Thursday. Wool.—Compared with our last sale and in sympathy with values in the main centres, values receded—more so for finer sorts which were Id per lb easier, while crossbreds were firm. Sheepskins.—Here again values ruling elsewhere were in evidence when most sorts were firm to slightly easier. Hides.—With a strong demand ox hides again appreciated Id per lb, but cow depreciated id to Id per lb. Calfskins were very firm. Tallow. —Some very nice lines were offered with values £1 per ton lower than those ruling last month. The following is the range of values:— Wool.—Southdown, 17d to 18Jd; fine hogget, 15d to 16|d; crossbred 14d to 154 d; crutchings, Ist 12d to 14d, 2nd lOd to 12d; pieces, 8d to lOd; dead, 12d to 14d; bellies, 9d to 10£d; lambs 16d to 174 d. Sheepskins.—Fine, Ist, 16d to 17£d; fine hoggets 15d to 16£d; hoggets 14£d to 15d; S to full wools, 14d to 16d; \ to I wools, 14d to 142 d; crossbred, damaged, 12d to 13d; lambs, 15d to 16id; salted pelts 4s 3d to 5s sd. Hides.—Ox: Heavy 9d to 9id, medium 9d to 9|d, light 8d to BJd. Cow: Heavy 7ld to Bd, medium 7§d to 7gd, light 7id to 7ld. Yearlings: 12d to 13|d. Calf: Light, Ist, 15d to 162 d, light, 2nd, 14d to 15d, cut 14d to 15d. Tallow.—ln drums, Ist, 24s to 275; in tins, Ist, 16s 6d to 18s 6d.
