FIRE BRIGADE TEAM
PRACTISES FOR NELSON DEMONSTRATION. GOOD TIMES REGISTERED. For the past three months the Te Kuiti Fire Brigade team for the biennial Fire Brigades' Association's demonstration has been in training on the Domain. The team is to be Firemen E. J. Peterson, R. Rolton, and F. P. Drew, while Superintendent Henderson is the emergency, and is also the delegate to the conference which precedes the demonstration. Leaving Te Kuiti on Friday, March 5, the team will arrive at Nelson on Saturday and will stay there about a week.
About 130 teams are expected to be competing this year. Because motors have practically superseded the old-fashioned reel, the reel events this year have been deleted from the programme, and ones likely to be of more practical advantage under modern conditions substituted. In the local team's training particularly good times have been recorded in the baby rescue event.
