GROUND IMPROVEMENT
AT PRIMARY SCHOOL. HIGH SCHOOL GROUND INSPECTION. A grant of £IOO for improvements to the playground at the Te Kuiti primary school has been approved by the Education Department, and the High School playground has been inspected and it is hoped that another grant will be made for improvements there. The £IOO grant approved for the primary school is to be used for tearing up and regrading the present seal and extending it by 12ft. This will enable basketball courts to be laid entirely on the seal, instead of on the pumice which cuts up so badly in the winter. The cost of grassing the remaining area of pumice was stated to be £77. No action was taken in regard to this, though it will be kept in view.
