Public Notices. WAIRERE ELECTRIC POWER BOARD. ELECTRICITY LOAN No. 3, 1936, £17,000. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE SPECIAL RATE. IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with the Rating Act, 1925, the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, the Electric Power Boards Act, 1925, the Finance Act, 1936 (No. 2), and all other Acts empowering, it is the intention of the Wairere Electric Power Board at a Special Meeting"* to be held in the Board’s Offices, Pio Pio, on Saturday, 27th February, 1937, at 8 p.m., to make and levy a Special Rate of Three Fai-things (Sd.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Wairere Electric Power Board District, and that such Special Rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such Loan and be payable yearly on the First Day of September in each and every year during the currency of such Loan, being a period not exceeding Twentyfive (25) years or until the Loan is fully paid off, at the Board’s Offices at Pio Pio to Stanley James Aston, the Board’s Collector, or to such person as may from time to time be appointed to collect the same. NOTICE OP INTENTION TO BORROW. JN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it by “The Electric Power Boards Act,' 1925,” the “Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926,” “The Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926,” and Amendments thereof, the Wairere Electric Power Board hereby gives Public Notice that it proposes to raise a Special Loan of Three thousand pounds (£3000) for the purposes of Improvements to Generating Plant and Headworks and provision for Standby Plant at the Board’s Generating Station, Wairere Falls, Pio Pio; pursuant to the consent to the loan given by the Local Government Loans Board at a meeting of that Board held on 13th October, 1936. It is proposed to pay the cost of raising the Loan out of the Loan. The proposed security for the payment of interest, repayment of principal and other chai'ges of the said Loan is a Special Rate of One Farthing (sd.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Constituent Districts of Waitomo County and Clifton County within the Wairere Power Board District. It is proposed to make such Loan repayable over twenty-five (25) years by equal yearly or half-yearly Redemptions of Principal. Dated at Pio Pio this 11th day of February, 1937. R. JN pursuance of Section 11 of “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926,” and Section 51 of “The Electric Power Boards Act, 1925, ’’ Public Notice is hereby given that a Poll of Ratepayers of the Wairere Electric Power District referred to above, will be taken at the undermentioned Polling Booths on Wednesday, the 17th day of March, 1937, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.:— Waitomo County Council Office, Te Kuiti. On Thursday Mr. W. J. Broadfoot, M.P., with Mr. W. Bluck (Otorohanga County chairman) and Mr. Gerald Jackson (County engineer), visited the Ngaroma district in connection with the proposal to establish a large sawmill in that district. Settlers in Ngaroma are reported to be keenly in favour of the establishment of this enterprise, for it will mean employment for over twenty married men; but the local body wants assurance that the roads over which timber will be carted will not be deteriorated by the traffic.
