An investigation of the administration of the pension system in various parts of the Dominion is to be carried out by the Commissioner of Pensions, Mr. H. Digby Smith, who will commence his enquiries at Palmerston North, proceeding thence to Wanganui, New Plymouth, and the Auckland province. It is \he intention of the Commissioner to inspect the local pensions office in each district and to discuss with persons already in receipt of pensions or those who are applicants any matters they may wish to bring before him. The Minister of Pensions (the Hon. W. E. Parry) stated that many persons were not clear as to the provisions of the Invalidity Pensions Act, and he hoped that they would avail themselves of the presence of Mr. Smith in their district to clear up any misunderstandings. „ _
