APPRECIATION OF SERVICES.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Hokitika, this day.

A public gathering of citizens, held in the Town Hall last evening, the Deputy-Mayor, Mr. Leslie Michel, presiding, presented the Mayor of Hokitika, Mr. George Albert Perry, 0.8. E., with a handsome illuminated address and a substantial piece of silver plate in recognition of his twenty-five years’ continuous service as Mayor of the town. Very complimentary references were made to Mr. Perry’s valued services to town and district over a period of years. He was the first Hoki-tika-born Mayor of the town.
