FURTHER REP. GAMES. Good progress is being made with the Copsey Memorial Grandstand at Rugby Park —it was used as a shelter from heavy showers by spectators on Saturday. It is to be officially opened and the tablet commemorating the late Mr. W. Copsey unveiled just before the start of the King Country-Thames Valley match on August 29, by Messrs. L. V. Carmine, president of the King Country Union, and Mr. R. Boddy, patron of the Maniapoto Rugby Sub-Union. The progress that was being made was reported at the Sub-Union meeting on. Tuesday. At that meeting the delegates decided to write to the Waipa Sub-Union asking whether ifs rep. team could pay a visit to Te Kuiti on September 19. The Maniapoto rep. team have also offered to play Kawhia at Kawhia on September 12. . . , „ Mangaotaki juniors, the holders of the Courtney Bolt Cup, offered to play United in the latter’s challenge for the trophy at Te Kuiti. This offer was accepted by the Union, and the match is to be a curtain-raiser for the provincial game on August 29. _ Mr. Smith was appointed Pio Pio delegate in succession to Mr. Somerfield, who has accepted a position in Hamilton. The Union decided to write a letter to Mr. Somerfield wishing him every success.

Pio Pio and Hangatiki are to play the semi-final of the Pukeweka Shield on Rugby Park next Saturday. Another senior game has been arranged, between Mahoenui, of the Tainui Sub-Union, and the Te Kuiti seniors.

The final of the juniors competition for the Farmers’ Cup is being played at Pio Pio in aid of the Queen Carnival to raise funds for the Pio Pio school. The Town v. Country 3i’d grades are playing at Rugby Park at 1.30 p.m. The following will represent the Te Kuiti seniors:—McLeod, Beeche, Corin, Shaw, Barlow (2), Evans, Hall, Gibbs, Brown, Armstrong, Peterson, Waretini, Turner, Martin, Cranston. RAILWAYMEN’S MATCH. TE KUITI v. FRANKTON. A match between the Frankton and Te Kuiti Railway teams for the Whyte and McKay Cup, now on display in the window of Crawford Boles, Ltd., is to be played on the Railway Oval during the next week-end, starting at 2.15 p.m. These two teams met at Frankton a few weeks ago, when Frankton ran out the winners, after a good game, by 9 points to 3. That .was the first time the Te Kuiti team had played together, however, and when they play again the experience should increase their chances of turning the tables on Frankton. The Te Kuiti team will be selected from the following:—R. Bredenbeck, R. Cameron, J. Craig, J. Dowie, S. Elliott, H. Gordon, C. Hartwell, G. Heslop, T. Humberstone, T. Lee, G. Loonies, F.
