THE STATE THEATRE
“DANCE BAND.” To-night (guest night) and on Friday night, an entirely new sparkling comedy-romance, “Dance Band,” will be screened at the State Theatre. This picture is effervescent with youth, laughter and happiness and set to the gay rhythm of massed Dance Bands—and what bands! Not since the introduction of talkies has there been screen entertainment brimful of such pep and melody as this scintillating musical comedy revue, written around a big dance band contest with some of the best combinations in- England supplying the snappy music! The leads are by Buddy Rogers and June Clyde, supported by Steve Geray, Magda Kun, Richard Hearne and Leon Sherkot. The usual matinee will be held at the State on Saturday at 2 p.m. THE EMPRESS. , ' FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. The first unit of the double feature programme at the Empress on Friday and Saturday nights will be a great action drama by Wm. S. Hart, “O’Malley of the Mounteds,” a story of the Canadian Mounted Police and a country at the mercy of a band of outlaws. The second vfhit is “The Walking Dead,” in which Kai’loff rises from the dead to avenge his own "murder. Boris Karloff, who scares others in his films, got the shivers himself when taking part in this production,
