“MEADOWLAND” ANNUAL SALE.
Readers are reminded that the Annual Sale of Stud Bulls at “Meadowland” will be held on Mr. Fred Phillips’ Farm on the 25th of this month. Farmers in this district are so inclined to accept “Meadowland” as a matter of course that they sometimes forget that some of the best bulls imported to New Zealand are at “Meadowland.” This year the sale includes bulls
from numerous tested cows, including one from a cow with a record of over 7001bs. fat as a two-year-old—-another from a cow which twice won a butterfat competition at the Hamilton Show, and still another from a cow which produced 5621b5. fat as a three-year-old. A son of the recently imported bull, “Design’s Monarch” will also be sold. Since Mr. Phillips imported this bull a sister of “Design’s Monarch” has put up a world’s record, yielding 983 lbs. fat in 302 days, while a daughter of “Design’s Monarch” was recently first over her parish at the recent Royal Show at Jersey Island. Though only a two-year-old she was made senior champion c-.o\v when she was exhibited in her own parish.
