SATURDAYS FOOTBALL

PLAYING OF TRIAL GAME. Considerable interest is sure to be taken by local Rugby fans in the A and B trial match which is to be played at Rugby Park on Saturday to enable the selection of the strongest possible team for the Peace Cup game with Cambridge the following Saturday. To ensure an even game, however, the “Probable” backs are now playing with the “Possibles” forwards, and vice versa—the straight “Probables” team will not play against the “Possibles” as originally intended. Mr. J. Pedersen will referee the game. The following are the teams as now arranged:—

Waitete at Te Kuiti, Mr. Taitoko; Te Kuiti v. United, at* Mangapehi, Mr. K. Hetet; and Hangatiki v. Mangaotaki, at Mangaotaki, Mr. Gilling.
