FIRE FIGHTING
m PROVINCIAL COMPETITIONS. TE KUITI BRIGADE'S SUCCESSES. The Auckland District Fire Brigades' Association held a successful demonstration on the Railway Reserve at Thames on Saturday last, teams representing 24 brigades competing. The fixture was well managed, and although light rain fell during most of the day, all the events were run off to schedule time. The Te Kuiti Brigade was successful in several competitions during the day and established an Auckland District record for the two-men rescue event. The results of the events in which they were placed were as follows: — Two Men Hose and Standpipe. —Te Kuiti A (T. Peterson and L. Willison), 38 2-ssecs, 1; Taumarunui, 41 sees, 2; Te Aroha A, 41 4-5 sees, 3; Whangarei, 42 2-5 sees, 4. Three Men Disabled Hose Event.— Otorbhanga A, 53 2-5 sees, 1; Dargaville B, 53 4-5 sees, 2; Whangarei, 54 1-5 sees, 3; Te Kuiti A (T. Peterson, .L. Willison and R. Rolton), 54 2-5 sees, 4.
