TARANAKI LAND BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, 29th January, there being present Messrs. F. H. Waters (chairman), H. A. Foreman, C. J. Ryan, N. R. Cleland and J. B. Murdoch. Several applications for land were dealt with of which the following were approved:—Sections 6 and 7, Block 11, and Section 11, block 10, Omona Survey District, W. G. Robinson; sections 11, 20 and 21, block 9, and section 2, block 13, Ohura Survey District, C. H. Reeve; subs. 1 and 2 of section 42, Patea Suburbs, J. A. Haswell; section 24, block 13, Cape Survey Distinct, L. A. Butterworth, and temporary tenancies of

part section 8, block 13, Pouatu Survey District, Mrs. H. McKeich, and section 5, block 10, Totoro Survey District. C. S. Taylor. One application to transfer was recommended and the transfer of lot 1, part section 5, New Plymouth Town Belt, and of sections 10 and 24, block 2, Ngatimaru Survey District approved. Four applications for financial assistance were recommended for approval and two refused. The lessees of subs. 3 and 4 'of ■section 42, Patea Suburbs, and of subs. 5 and 6 of the same subdivision were offered renewals of their expiring leases. Steps will shortly be taken to reoffer the undermentioned areas for ballot: Section 8, block 4, Aria Survey District; section 2S, Ratapiko Settlement; section 5, block 6, Tangitu Survey District; and section 5, block 9, Totoro Survey District. Forty-four further miscellaneous cases dealing with mortgage adjustments, rental concessions, exemption from residence, and conversion and extension of leases were considered.
