HAMILL SHIELD

COLTS SECURE THREE-POINTER. Colts gained a three-point win off Old Boys last Saturday by raising 22 off the last two overs of the day. By reason of the Seccombe-Hutchins partnership Coltsj who went in first, gained the imposing total of 166 in their first innings. To this Old Boys replied with 66, G. Corin, with 32 not out, being the principal scorer. Colts put Old Boys in again,. and Liddell, Martin and Low began the innings well—in fact, the total was 96 by the time the third wicket had fallen. Not much sting lay in the tail, however, and the last man was dismissed with the score at 120 and but a few minutes to go; and in that three minutes it was necessary for Colts to score 21 for a three-point win. Some big. hitting by Seccombe and Hutchins achieved the desired result. COLTS.-First Innings. Hutchins, b McNaught,.. .... 43 Seccombe, b Corin. V. 73 Nicholls, c Simmonds, b McNaught : 12 J.
