At Forest Hills in the final of the women's tennis singles, Miss Jacobs defeated Miss Fabyan, 6—2, 6—4. More than fourteen thousand witnessed the greatest upset of the tennis year when Allison defeated Perry, 7—5, 6—3, 6—3. Wood defeated Grant, 6—2, 4—6, 12—10, 6—2.
