LOCAL AND GENERAL
Whilst an Otorohanga business man’s attention was momentarily attracted from the cash he had been counting on his desk, a sneak thief purloined £4, and made a clean exit without being discovered.
When a motor car caught fire in Sackville Street, New Plymouth, recently, and the fire brigade was called to extinguish the blaze, some difficulty was experienced in locating the nearest fire plug. The chemical extinguisher had been used, but it was deemed advisable also to run out a lead of hose to complete the work of the brigade. Some little time was spent in searching for the fire plug, and it was eventually discovered that the car had been parked over it.
