ATTEMPTED ENTRY
MARKS ON BACK DOOR. OP RORA STREET SHOP. Traces of an attempt to enter Mason and Dobson's shops was discovered this morning. Someone had evidently tried to force the back door, which was split for about a foot around the Yale, lock, while traces of a lever being used were found around the side of the door. However, the door was bolted top and bottom and held securely. It is probable that the attempt was made over a week ago—then it was noticed that the door would not close as easily as hitherto, but the marks, not being distinguishable from the inside, were not noticed until to-day. It is not a very uncommon thing for shopkeepers in Rora Street to find a few marks round the doors, but fortunately the entries gained are much fewer.
