RAILWAY CONCESSIONS
TO PRIMARY PRODUCERS. CANCELLED FROM Ist APRIL. In February, 1933, it was decided by the Government, in view of the low prices then ruling for primary products, to reduce temporarily by 15 per cent, the classified rates for the conveyance of certain classes of these goods by rail, the loss of revenue to the Railways Department to be borne by the Consolidated Fund out of the vote "Agriculture." Having regard to the recent increase in nrices obtainable for wool, sheep, lambs, skins and hides, this concession has now been cancelled as from Ist April in so far as these nroducts are concerned. The necessary amending order to give effect to this decision was published by the Government Railways Board in this week's Gazette.
