Information from the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce that following representations it had made for a reduction in the rentals charged for railway siding rights the Railways Department had declined to make a reduction was conveyed to a meeting on Thursday of the executive of the Associated Chambers of Commerce. After discussion it was decided that the association press for the complete abolition of the rentals which it considered were unjustified.
