“In the earlier days of flying,” said Colonel F. W. W. Dawson at the Imperial War Servicemen’s reunion in Christchurch recently, “I was in India when first a flying' force was sent out. The orders specified so many officers, so many pilots, so many mechanics, and one medical officer ‘who will not fly!’ The inference is obvious, but flying has progressed wonderfully since then.”
