The Commerce Department and the United States Chamber of Commerce announce that separate investigations had disclosed the fact that 150,866,000 dollars worth of United States exports to Canada and Britain would be affected by the tariff preferences they had accorded to each other under the Ottawa agreements. The American aeroplane, Spirit of Fun, crashed at Victoria Falls, Rhodesia. The pilot, Captain J. B. Dickson, was killed, and the passengers, Mr. A. M. Loew and Mr. J. Rosthal, were slightly injured.
