DUTIES TO REMAIN
IMPOSTS ON WHEAT IMPORTS. NO GOVERNMENT ACTION. No action will be taken by the Government to remove the present duties on wheat imports, according to _ a statement made by the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, on Thursday. Discussing the proposed legislation for next session, which will probably open in about the second week m September, the Prime Minister said the Government had no intention of interfering with the present wheat duties. The present level of duties would remain.
