EMPRESS THEATRE
“THE ROSARY.” The story of “The Rosary,” to be screened at the Empress Theatre tonight and Wednesday, is centred around two girls —half-sisters. By accident they discover that both are in love with the same man. Vera lies about her intimacy with him and so convinces Mary that she gives him up and prepares to enter a convent. Returning one day, she finds Vera, revolver in hand over the dead body of a man. Mary takes the revolver and when the police enter she is suspected. Again she sacrifices herself and shields her sister and stands. for murder. When the verdict is given as “Not Guilty,” Vera is overwhelmed. She brings Ronald to the convent where Mary is and reveals to them the tissue of lies with which she has kept them apart. Mary and Ronald depart full of happiness at being reconciled. Margot Graharae is supported by a cast including Leslie Perrins, Robert Holmes and Elizabeth Allan.
