"Ninety per cent, of the junior players who have come before the Canterbury Rugby Union for misdemeanours on the field have either been wing-forwards or they have 'clouted' the wing-forward," declared Mr. S. F. Wilson, amid laughter, at the annual meeting of the Canterbury Rugby Union the other night. Mr. Wilson made out a case for the abolition of the wing forward.
