WESTFIELD STOCK SALE.

Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows on sale of the 16th inst. at Westfield: —

Beef.—Ox beef was yarded in well up to average numbers, the quality being first-class. Competition was fairly steady and values remained on a par with last week's rates. Cow and heifer beef also came forward in average numbers and here again last week's values ruled.' A show bullock from Mr. R. W. McAulay, Okaihau, realised £lO 2s 6d; extra choice ox sold to 20s per lOOlbs; choice and prime ox 17s to 19s; just killable 15s to 16s; prime young cow and heifer beef 16s to 19s; just killable 10s to 15s; heavy prime steers made £7 5s to £7 15s; lighter prime steers £6 5s to £7 2s 6d; light prime steers £5 2s 6d to £6 2s 6d;. small and unfinished steers £2 15s to £5; heavy prime cows and heifers £4 2s 6d to £5; lighter prime cows and ' heifers £3 to £4; other killable cows £2 to £2 17s 6d. A well finished line of bullocks from Mr. W. C. Roberts, Whakatane, realised up to £7 15s. Sheep.—Sheep again came forward in large numbers and sold under steady competition at values fully equal to late rates. Fat ewes were not in such keen demand and values for this class were slightly easier. Extra heavy prime wethers made 15s 3d to 16s 3d; heaVy prime wethers 14s to 15s; medium prime wethers 13s to 13s 9d; light and unfinished wethers lis 6d to 12s' 9d; heavy prime ewes 9s 6d to 10s 3d; lighter prime ewes 8s to 9s 3d;-other ewes 6s to 7s 9d.

Lambs. —Lambs were offered in well up to average numbers and sold under keen competition at full late rates. Heavy prime lamb made 14s 6d to 15s; medium 12s to 14s 3d; light 10s to Us 9d.

Calves. —Despite the fact that calves were offered in fewer numbers than last week, prices at Wednesday's market showed a further decline. Runners made £1 2s to £1 14s; heavy vealers £1 10s to £1 16s; medium £1 4s to £1 8s; light 18s to £1 2s; small 9s to 14s; rough calves 5s to 9s; bobby calves Is to 3s. Pigs,—A full yarding of pigs was offered and last week's improvement was not maintained Choppers realised 16s to £2 7s; heavy baconers £2 2s to £2 ss; medium £1 17s to £2 Is; light £1 2s to £1 16s; heavy porkers £1 7s to £1 10s; medium £1 3s to £1 6s; light and small 19s to £1 2s.
