SENSATIONAL EPISODE
MR. LANG FORESTALLED. WHEN CUTTING RIBBON. A wireless announcement this afternoon stated that a. sensation marked the opening ceremony of the Sydney Bridge. Just as the Prime Minister, Mr. Lang, was about to cut the ribbon and declare the Bridge open for traffic, a mounted man in uniform rushed in and slashed the ribbon with a sword. There was intense excitement and the man was pulled off his horse and placed under ■ I. The ribbon was shortly afterwards replaced and. the ceremony continued. ■
