TO-NIGHT AND MONDAY. A double programme is being featured at the Empress Theatre to-' night and Monday. Elissa-Landi, revealed as an actress , of enigmatical charm and great emotional talents in "Body and Soul" is starred in "Always Goodbye," a Fox romantic drama. Lewis Stcne is the successful suitor among the many who seek the affections of this lovely lady in the picture. Paul Cavanagh is also featured.
The story of "Desert Vengeance," featuring Buck Jones and Barbara Bedford, revolves around the activities of two rival gangs of banditsone headed by the reprehensible but lovable Jim Cardew. Parson Smith, an old minister, has a genuine affection for the dashing bandit. And Jim Cardew falls in love with an adventuress. This situation provides thrills galore and an unexpected but satisfy-, ing denouement. . .
