Operations by members of the Royal Air Force continue on the North-west frontier. A number of rebel tribesmen were killed when an airman opened machine-gun fire on hostile snipers. Approximately 2000 men will have been dismissed from the Public Works Department staff by the end of this week, this being the first large economy move in accordance with the recent statement made by the Minister of Public Works, the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates.
