SCOUT NOTES

(By “Campfire.”) The local scouts are now quite prepared for the great Scout Rally to be held at Rugby Park, Hamilton, on Saturday, March 12. This rally was postponed on February 20 on account of bad. weather. Local scouts have been practising regularly since parades started for this year, and they have attained very good results. Next week we hope to be able to give the results of the rally. All boys owning or holding the scout uniform or parts thereof are reminded that the wearing of same outside scout parades is absolutely forbidden by Imperial headquarters. It has been noticed that this rule has been broken by several boys (mostly ex-scouts) of late and they ; are hereby asked to take notice. It will be remembered that in last week’s scout notes mention was made of Scout C. Payne’s return home from the Waikato Hospital. Here it may be said that it will be some time before Carl is quite right and able to get about again. It is therefore asked that scouts will visit him and cheer him up while he is co'nfined to his home. His patrol might arrange for boys to visit him in pairs. Lately the Scout Committee have been canvasing for honorary members and they have already received over 50 subscriptions. If any reader should care to become an honorary member please communicate with Mr. Duncanson, any member of the committee (executive) or the troop officers. The subscription is 2s 6d.
