RENTS TO COME DOWN. " (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Wellington, this day. It is reported that in order to secure reductiombsm jfixed money charges, and an equitable distribution of generally lowered costs over the whole community, the Government has drafted legislation providing for the arbitrary reduction of interest and rent by 20 per cent. This policy will probably affect interest on mortgages, debentures, bank deposits, and dividends from shares and securities of this kind.
