EMPRESS THEATRE
DOUBLE FEATURE PROGRAMME. A double feature programme, consisting of “Many A Slip” and “The Yellow Ticket,” will be screened at Empress Theatre to-night and Monday. • The enchanting Elissa Landi and Laurence Oliver, who recently were starred together in the London stage production again are together in “The Yellow Ticket.” Miss Landi and Ollivier play the romantic leads in this picturisation of Michael Morton’s famous stage play with Lionel Barrymore featured as the menace to their delicate romance.
The story of “Many a Slip” is filled with a spicy quality of humour and an unusually capable cast, the production goes along at a lilting pace which is the goal of comedy makers, and the result is a laughing success which is altogether enjoyable.
