DECIDED TO COMMIT SUICIDE.
THREE VAIN ATTEMPTS. Heart broken over the end of a love affair, Elizabeth Nagykovacs, a pretty peasant girl of the Thiess Valley of Hungary, decided to commit suicide. She hanged herself first but was cut down before she was dead. Then she opened an artery but was given first aid and taken to a hospital. On her return she eluded her parents and flung herself into the river, but was fished out with a boat hook. Really depressed at the failure of her third attempt at suicide in 24 hours, she had to be taken to a hospital suffering from nervous collapse.
