HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Cooperative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report:—At the weekly stock sale held in the Frankton yards on Tuesday, Bth inst., we had a heavier yarding of ox and cow beef than usual, but prices for all classes remained unchanged. A full yarding of sheep was also penned, but the majority comprised unfinished sheep, for which prices were slightly easier, although prime quality met with fair competition and remained firm at last week’s quotations. There was again a heavy yarding of fat and a medium entry of store pigs. Competition for baconers at the commencement of the sale was not keen, but showed a firming tendency towards the close. Stores also showed a slight increase on late rates.

TAUMARUNUI SALE.

LARGE YARDING ON TUESDAY. Taumarunui, Wednesday. Probably the rise in prices at last week’s Taumarunui stock sale was responsible for the large yarding of ewes and wethers at yesterday’s sale. The yarding included 7000 sheep and 100 head of cattle. There was a large attendance of buyers and farmers, but bidding was not very spirited and, although there was a fair demand for wethers, last week’s prices were not maintained. Good forwardconditioned wethers made 10s; tw'otooths, 9s; best two-tooth ewes, 11s 4d; older ewes 4s 6d to 7s 9d. Pigs were not in demand and weaners sold at 3s to 4s 6d.

TE KUITI SALE. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having held their usual fortnightly sale at Te Kuiti, when a large yarding of sheep came forward to receive fair competition from a large attendance of buyers, a fair number of whom came from the Waikato. There was little or no change in values and the prices must be regarded as satisfactory.

We quote: Fat and forward wethers 11s 6d; fair store 2-tooth wethers 8s 6d to 8s lid; small 2-tooth ewes 7s 6d to 9s; good 5 and 6-year ewes to 7s Id; other full-mouth ewes 4s 6d to 6s 6d.

Good lambs were subject to keen competition, and woolly m.s. lambs in fair order realised from 6s 6d to 7s Id for a good line of English Leicester cross lambs on account of Mr. D. McCorkindale. Other lambs 3s 3d to ss.

Very few cattle were yarded and practically the whole yarding was passed.
